Just back from PKA's Leaders Retreat today.
It was a short retreat for leaders to gather and share the vision for the year. It was exciting, as we experienced God's faithfulness and really seeing how amazing he work through the challenges we faced on that day. I can never tell of how real my God is and He is my Heavenly Father.
Ok, I don't want to sound so holy or anything, but I can't help to say that, what an honor to be called His child? Can you imagine the truth that you are actually higher than any other things just because I have a big big big Daddy?
Well, I never realized or really have the 'enlightened' moment of this truth till today. ( imagine a lighted bulb) =D
Our vision for the year is ' Christ Identity, Christ's Ambassador'.
This theme was placed in our hearts, knowing that we,as human, we never really realize who we actually are or what is the purpose of our existence on earth for. We always looked in others/things to help us find what defines us. And it's sad. Because we are blinded from claiming our privileges as children of God which He has given to us through his promises.
Anyway, it is a good time for us to ask ourselves "who am I? " and realize it ourselves instead of hearing it from others.
Of all things that I've learnt and experienced throughout the retreat, here's something that I felt that I should share :
Take a color pencil. Look at it. What do you see?
I've learn to be a pencil. I want to colour people's life and leave a mark there. I want to learn from my mistakes and do better in everything that I do.
Well,I've learn that life is short.Knowing our identity ( even is you are a pencil) will help us achieve even greater things in life. We do not have to lament and live a life of unfulfilled dreams. But right now, there's so much out there for us to do for Him because He has promised us that 'he will be with us everywhere we go till the very ends of the earth'.
And He always remembers and keeps His promises.
=)

The Pencil Maker
When He was packing them in their boxes, the Pencil Maker told the pencils five important lessons :
- Everything you do will always leave a mark
- You can always correct the mistakes you make
- What's more important is what's inside of you
- In life, you will undergo painful sharpening which will make you a better pencil
- For you to be the best pencil, you must allow yourself to be held and guided by the hands that holds you.
I've learn to be a pencil. I want to colour people's life and leave a mark there. I want to learn from my mistakes and do better in everything that I do.

When you see geese flying along in “V” formation, you might consider what science has discovered as to why they fly that way. As each bird flaps its wings, it creates an uplift for the bird immediately following. By flying in “V” formation, the whole flock adds at least 71 percent greater flying range than if each bird flew on its own. People who share a common direction and sense of community can get where they are going more quickly and easily because they are traveling on the thrust of one another.
When a goose falls out of formation, it suddenly feels the drag and resistance of trying to go it alone — and quickly gets back into formation to take advantage of the lifting power of the bird in front. If we have as much sense as a goose, we will stay in formation with those people who are headed the same way we are.
When the head goose gets tired, it rotates back in the wing and another goose flies point. It is sensible to take turns doing demanding jobs, whether with people or with geese flying south. Geese honk from behind to encourage those up front to keep up their speed.
What messages do we give when we honk from behind? Finally — and this is important — when a goose gets sick or is wounded by gunshot, and falls out of formation, two other geese fall out with that goose and follow it down to lend help and protection. They stay with the fallen goose until it is able to fly or until it dies, and only then do they launch out on their own, or with another formation to catch up with their group.
If we have the sense of a goose, we will stand by each other like that.

blogging from my workplace! woots!
It has been 3 weeks into internship. I can say that so far, it has been good. Thank God!
You know, wherever God has placed me, I am just so thankful and I know that He has placed me here for a reason. some how or the other, everything just works out well. I am thankful for a good boss, who actually concerned about me, colleagues who are quite friendly though they are from different race.I am the only Chinese here by the way. The thorn among the roses ,I guess. hehe. But oh ya! I am glad to know that there's quite a number of my colleagues here who shares the same faith as I am. How awesome is that? wee~ I was talking to the mak cik cleaner that day. She asked me my name and I told her. She asked "Kamu doa Yesus ah ? " I replied ' Yes". And she was so happy to reply me, "Saya jugak doa Yesus!" And from there, we shared about our backgrounds in Christianity. Isn't it awesome when we found another brother/sister in Christ? It's good!
Anyway , the corporate culture here is kinda cool and not really that stressful, a working environment which I like. We do a quick morning exercise everyday to have fresh and energetic start to the day. Then there's some motivational sessions sometimes. In the noon, we have afternoon energizers where we will play a short and light game to kinda like energize ourselves for the remaining hours.
So, right..that's all about my work. It was tough in the 1st week, having to adapt to the new environment and trying to make friends from different age. It's not easy to break the ice. But well, meeting strangers and learning about one another takes time and yup, it's getting better.
Meanwhile, oh yea, lately, I've got to know about this girl named Talia Castellano who have died of cancer about 1 week back. Her story has really inspired me of how a girl,13 years old, could touch so many lives with her strength, perseverence, determination and most of all her joy and love even though she is going through tremendous pain. She is just a cutie pie in a tiny body. I just can't imagine how she go through all those treatments and still, able to look healthy in her Youtube videos. She is a beauty guru by the way. And you know, I actually teared when I see one of her Cancer Vlog! ( i don't cry easily) So, I just couldn't comprehend sometimes why God will want to take away this beautiful child. And one thing that saddens me most is that, I am not sure whether she has accepted Jesus personally or not. Her mum asked a psychic healer to help her...and it breaks my heart.
I realized that the world now have heard about Jesus, but sadly, their hearts have hardened to the good news and well, human are becoming more prideful and couldn't accept the fact that we need a Savior. Human race don't know the consequences of this life on earth, that without Christ, we all are doomed to Hell - for eternity.
=(
alright. back to work. Have a nice day! =)

[ I looked out the window today and saw people loading up their cars with their luggage and belongings.
oh, so emo.
and here I am, still have to wait for my turn. 4 more days. and it is finish! =) ]
But oh, I went for a prayer walk today with my life group and we decided to walk around my hostel area, RST.
The sky was colourful, though there are reported haze going on now, but yes, it was indeed a beautiful evening. The clouds were puffy and the moon is beginning to come out. We walked and walked up the hill, under our breathe, we said our prayers.
Along the way,we stopped to pray for one of the examination halls. I looked to the sky and saw 2 birds flying so happily. I felt God asking me to pray for freedom in this campus. And I prayed. I realized that there's a different kind of atmosphere here in uni these few days. People chained to their negativity, bounded by burdens from the world today. I realized how much we,as human need to learn, that sometimes we need to be like those birds. And remember how God feeds them and even how He clothes the lilies of the field. We don't have to worry much, but totally dependent on Him alone.
We continued our walk to our next stop. We stopped at the girl's block. Immediately, a thought ran through my mind. I realized how human can be hidden behind these walls. These buildings that I see in front of me looks fine. The fans are spinning and everyone is busy with their own routine. But, if I take a look deeper, I saw people who are depressed, stressed out, lack of love and attention, people crying out for help, lonely, lost, and etc. I prayed for protection and healing over these people. The walls need to be broken down and I pray that these individuals who are searching for an answer to their hurts and disappointments might find the answer in God.
We ended our prayer walk and gave a short sharing of what we have received and what God has impressed in our hearts. Thinking back, I realized how little I prayed for USM, the land God has placed me in. I never really thought that I need to pray for this place and there's not really a big burden for me to pray. Today, my eyes are opened to the needs of the people here. A need for a Saviour. hmm. One of the things that my friend shared was that the atmosphere in USM will be set by the christians here. It's either we do something to bring Christ's love or let the enemy bring in his troops.
Today, I learned so much from just a simple walk in the evening. I pray that I will have a deeper burden for his people my mission field, USM. =) hope you do too.

There's a one week gap in between my paper to the next and being hibernating in the room for so long, I spend quite a lot of time browsing through facebook, spying ; looking through my tumblr and posting lots and lots of pictures and reading blogs.
And so,I realized how unfruitful I am and how uninspired I became these few days. I began to compare my life with my friends out there who have gone over the seas, travelling and posting about their awesome friendship, food, clothing etc etc.I became very emotional and asked God, is this it? My life, looking at the same old view from my window, same friends, same attitude, same old me?
I guess that probably, everyone has a story and everyone's story is different. I need not to compare but to look at their story and be inspired. One day, I might achieve what I wanted in life also and one day, I shall do what I like to do. Probably, now is not the time yet and yes, there's a season for everything.
I need to constantly put my eyes on Jesus and remind myself that I am here, not for myself but for Him. But well, it's hard. and my butt is getting bigger just sitting here 24 hours. >< I want to do something crazy after this finals!! =) wee!!
If He has a plan, He know when to fulfill that plan, at the right timing. You just need to be patient and not fret and complain. Be thankful!

Hi, there.
Another once in a blue moon post.
How has it been?
Having finals now,and not a single mood for me to look into the books. So much in my mind that I could not concentrate to do well for my revision. I have my next paper on Wednesday. not this but Next Wednesday.
I couldn't stand my butt paining on the chair. I decided to go for a jog/exercise.
There's a reason for it. So much in my mind these pass few days. Friends, God, relationship, family, people, studies. And somehow, I felt so overwhelmed by it. This semester has been kind to me actually. I didn't do much and I felt dissappointed in myself for failing to achieve what I have intended to do. I see that I tend to go back to my old ways once again. Back to the lazy, procrastinator, phlegmatic kind of Alison. I thought I have changed, I thought I have thrown away those bad habits that I hated in me. But I went back to the comfort zone and hid myself in it. After hibernating in it for so long, it became kinda stinky. Yup, stinky. And I think it is eating me daily one by one.
Comparing to last semester, though I was busy with so many stuff, I still could manage with still some energy left and go out and enjoy. However, this semester, I couldn't even concentrate well among my friends, studies, and God. God. I felt like I am the Samaritan women. Who has been drinking water from the well. except that she knows that Jesus came to offer her the living water. But me, I know that I have the living water in me, but I didn't drink it. And therefore, I keep coming back thirsty again and again. I couldn't find joy or fulfillment that I wanted in the things that I do.
Realizing that, I actually know the root of the problem.
Oh ya, I've told you that I went for the jog. I climbed up the hills and by the end of it, I was exhausted. It wasn't even a 15 minute walk but I was already exhausted. But well, it was worth it. The cool wind blowing on my face, it gave me peace and somehow, I felt a little of my burden came out. I looked in to the sky, the birds were flying happily and I was remembered of the song "Still".
And realized that, I've not been finding rest in Him. This semester, I have been depending a lot on myself. I don't know why but it's only in times of need and problem that I went to Him. This is something that I couldn't learn. Even till now.
I think I am a selfish person. I will love others, if they love me back. And I like to receive only. Not the other way round. So, the problem is that I don't know how to show genuine love to others but just receiving genuine love from others. This isn't what God wants. God give Himself freely, and I took it for granted. This is a sin that sometimes, I just couldn't bare seeing myself. Dirty and unworthy of His grace and love.
But my God, He love unceasingly and even more abundantly. I know that I am forgiven daily because of the cross that bears my sins. And Jesus has done all the work there, on that tree. Therefore, it's time for me to come back to Him, daily, at the foot of the cross and knowing that I no longer need to hide but come before God,naked with all my dirtiness, and knowing that He is willing to wash me over and over again. No matter what.
I need to stop being selfish and come out from my comfort zone. Start loving others with a genuine love. Start sharing Christ's love to my friends around me. Start investing good quality time with them. Be myself and bring Christ along with me. Some might think that it is easy, but not for me. It has become one of my fears, to have a chat with someone, even if she/he is my friend. I guess it's my personality but I don't want that to be my excuse. I need to learn and change.
Well, I will stop here. God is good ,all the time. It's time to let the reality of His love really sink deep in me. I pray for an experience with Him daily. so that I can taste His goodness. But, I think He has been doing all that, all these while. oh well, Alison, open your eyes to see the goodness around you.
